About the CEO
Zethu Makama, a proud Swati, was born and raised in Eswatini, where the richness of her cultural heritage shaped her love for artistry and design. Inspired by the vibrant patterns and colours of traditional Swati attire, she developed a lifelong passion for fashion and cultural expression. Her career began in the marketing sector, where she crafted innovative strategies to promote local brands and products. Known for her ability to merge culture with commerce, Zethu collaborated with cultural organizations, further deepening her commitment to preserving Swati traditions.
In 2018, driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, she founded Imvunulo.Co – a platform dedicated to creating luxury Swati attire while celebrating traditional craftsmanship. As Creative Director, Zethu ensures every garment reflects the authenticity, beauty, and storytelling power of Swati culture. Zethu believes fashion is more than style – it is cultural storytelling. Through Imvunulo.Co, she shares the rich narratives of the Swati people with the world, while mentoring young creatives to embrace their heritage and use design as a force for positive change.
